My great-grandfather was Augustus Isaiah Jones. My grandfather was Augustus Isaiah, married to Sarah Louise (Sadie)Delchamps. They had 9 children together and raised them in Bayou LaBatre, Alabama. My grandfather ran Jones Marine Hardware, a wharfside store catering to shrimpers till his death. Their youngest, Grace Elizabeth, is my mother. She was named after her aunt Grace (b. 1889) My father, Clarence Martin Hager of Kansas City, Missourri, married my mother on June 23, 1946 in Bayou LaBatre. They had three children, of which I am one!
My mother has written an unpublished manuscript of her mother Sarah's life entitled "Sadie." Sadie was raised for a time on a paddle steamer upon the Mississippi while her (single) father worked his trade as on-board photographer.
well Augustus Isaiah is my grandmother's grandfather and she doesn't know a "CHRIS" her name is Mary.
